This privacy policy applies to (A) the FotoFetch website and (B) the FotoFetch macOS app.

1. Controller

The controller within the meaning of GDPR is the operator listed in the Legal Notice.

PART A – WEBSITE

2. Server logs

When you visit the website, technical access data may be processed (e.g., IP address, timestamp, requested page, user agent) to provide and secure the website. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest).

3. Plausible Analytics (cookie‑free)

This website uses Plausible Analytics to generate aggregated usage statistics. Plausible does not use cookies and does not create user profiles. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in measuring reach and improving the site).

Note: Plausible is used as a processor. No marketing cookies are set.

PART B – APP (macOS)

4. Local processing (review & analysis)

FotoFetch primarily processes image data locally on your device. This includes displaying thumbnails, reading metadata (EXIF) and local sharpness analysis.

5. Subject detection (Vision)

FotoFetch can generate subject tags on demand. Processing is performed locally using Apple frameworks (e.g., Vision). No accounts are required and no advertising tracking is used.

6. Place resolution (reverse geocoding)

If a photo contains GPS coordinates, FotoFetch can optionally resolve a place name. For this, coordinates are sent to a geocoding service (Apple/CLGeocoder) to return a human‑readable location. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (feature provision) and/or Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR where consent is required.

If no coordinates are present, no place resolution is performed.

7. Export/download & optional EXIF updates

When exporting your selection, FotoFetch can optionally write tags and/or place information into the EXIF metadata of JPEG files (if enabled). This is performed locally on the device.

8. No ads, no tracking in the app

The app does not include advertising tracking or profiling. No user accounts are maintained.

9. Retention

FotoFetch does not maintain centralized user profiles. Data remains on your device and is controlled by you (e.g., exported files in your chosen destination folder).

10. Your rights

You have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection, among others. Please contact the operator listed in the Legal Notice.

11. Changes

This policy may be updated to reflect changes in technology or law.
